Air Liquide inaugurates a new Air Separation Unit in Nagpur, state of Maharashtra

On December 14th 2022, Air Liquide India inaugurated its newest site comprising a 70 tons per day capacity air separation unit (ASU) and a cylinder filling station (CFS) which fills 3000 cylinders per day with state-of-the-art technology in Nagpur, state of Maharashtra, central India. This site is second plant of Air Liquide in Maharashtra.

Spread over a built-up area of seven acres with an investment of Rs 120 crores, this new site will serve small-and-medium sized customers of liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, argon, argon-CO2 mixtures, oxygen, nitrogen in high pressure cylinders. It will allow Air Liquide to meet the growing demand of the industries, as well as local hospitals requiring high-standard medical gases in the region.

The ASU and CFS were successfully launched under the Mission Oxygen Swavalamban scheme promoted by the Maharashtra government towards building self-sufficiency in medical oxygen production in the state.

During the event, Air Liquide had the honor of the distinguished presence of various stakeholders, notably Shri Gajendra Bharti, Joint Director Industries Nagpur, Government of Maharashtra and Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, Consul General of France in India.

The new site contributing to Air Liquide’s expansion strategy in India, where the Group has been present for more than 30 years. With that, Air Liquide finalizes its 5th ASU and 4th CFS in India. Air Liquide is committed to continue investing in coming years to accompany the development of India and its growing demand for sustainable solutions.
